I AM

“To be” or “truly I am” (strong statement); self-title that Jesus used to proclaim who He was, linking Himself explicitly as God in Exodus 3:14.

And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you. / then Jesus said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. … I am the bread of life, He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. / Then Jesus spoke to them again saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. / I am the door (or gate). If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. / I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. / Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. / Jesus said to him, I am the way, truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. / I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. … I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. / I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Discipleship Directive:

Christ is the Vine and as a believer we are His branches. All these titles have a direction relevance to our daily walk with Him as a child of God and as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Christ is God and we must worship and humble ourselves before Him as our Lord and Saviour. These “I AM” titles of Jesus Christ declares to a lost world who He is and how He can minister to us and to others through the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, so that He may flow out through us to the people that we come into contact with each day.

Dedication Prayer:

Jesus, You truly are the great I Am, the God Almighty and I pray that you would always keep in my mind the diversity of who You are. You are all that I need from the beginning to the end and I thank you for grafting me into yourself. I know that you desire to bear fruit through my life and I pray that I will be sensitive to the moving of your Holy Spirit so that I will do things and live each day according to your will and purposes for my life. Thank you for all you give and do for me. I look forward to the day when we will meet face to face.
