Scripture Reading:

And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. / Teach me good judgement and knowledge, for I believe Your commandments. / You are My witnesses, says the LORD, and My servants whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He … / And Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes Lord. / And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing you will receive. / For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. / … I told you, and you did not believe … But you do not believe, because you are not My sheep … My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and the follow Me. / So they (Paul and Silas) said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. / that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believe unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. / For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. / But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. / He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. …And this testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in the Son. … These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Discipleship Directive:

For the disciple these Scriptures explain what the nature of a follower of Christ should be, what our heart should be like and how we should view things. It comes through believing that Jesus Christ is the only way, truth and life. Our heart should be full of faith and this should guide our thinking about how we should live and walk with God Almighty here on earth.

Dedication Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I come to you, to ask that you will help me in those areas that I do not have the strength or the ability to believe that you are able to do what you said you can and will do in my life. Help me in my areas of unbelief for I desire to walk in your will each day. I pray that you will empower me and draw me closer to your heart so that as a believer in you, I will be able to follow you to those places that you have called me and desire me to go for Your glory.
