Heavenly Destination

Definition:

Heaven

Paradise bliss, above the sky, firmament, the idea of the whole universe, created by God Almighty, a real place where everlasting peace and joy are and where there is no more suffering or pain.
Scripture Reading:

Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord’s thy God, the earth also with all that therein is. / And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. / The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork. / For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. / I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. / … prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. / Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. / This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. / For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. / For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. / And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Discipleship Directive:

For the disciple this is a place where all is everlasting; God’s dwelling place (third heaven, 2 Cor 12:2), the place where people will be judged, both the good and the bad; the place that the church of Christ will reign from; it will be the place where the marriage supper of the Lamb will be celebrated; the place where time will be no more and we walk and live with our Lord and King for all eternity.

Dedication Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for coming to earth so that we could have a way to heaven. You laid down your life for us as a bridge and if we just have faith and trust you with our hearts, we can already begin to enjoy our eternity here on earth. We have the hope that soon we will meet with you in heaven, face to face, and that we will be able to bow and honour you with all our hearts as our Lord and King.
